      <image:caption>Consider you were teaching a full class at our Peckham studio. In this case, the maximum capacity of the class is 24 people. During your 4 minute warm-up, you would need to divide the class in half, so 12 people on the rowers and 12 on the floor where they will spend 2 minutes on that side of the room. At 2 minutes, you will then need to swap everyone across again so they have completed both sections of the warm-up. In this example, all of the rowing work is individual but the strength work will need a little more organising. The exercises will need to be completed in a “You Go I Go” style (YGIG) with one partner working and one resting. Considering again that this is a full class, that would mean of your 12 people on the floor, they would need to be put into pairs - 3 pairs on the BB Back Squat and 3 on the DB Bench Press for that 8 minute round.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Staff Portal (Module 3) - Let’s consider again that you are teaching a full class in our Peckham studio. You will have to divide the class of 24 people; 12 on the rowers and 12 on the floor. In this example, there will be more changeovers. Instead of 4x8 minute rounds in the above Coar programme, you now have 4x6 minutes and 1x8 minutes at the end. The majority of the blocks are set up as EMOM’s (Every Minute On the Minute), meaning every 60s the members need to move to the next stroke rate goal on the rower or, if they are on the floor, the next exercise. All studios have x3 Air Bikes and x3 Ski Ergs. Either put everyone into pairs on the floor with one partner on a machine and one on the floor, or if you feel confident, let them choose where to start. Be mindful however, that you can have no more than 6 people on a station as that is limited by the number of machines. The final 8 minute round involves no floor work at all. Members will work in pairs again going for max distance swapping as quickly as possible every minute on the minute (EMOM). The better and more confident you feel in managing the room and understanding what the aim is of each block, ultimately the smoother the class will run. Always check the programme document the day before and think how you will structure your classes.</image:title>

      <image:title>Staff Portal (Module 4) - Strength classes have the same capacity across all of our studios, and are capped at 18 people - this way we can ensure everyone has an adequate amount of focussed coaching in each session. The warm-up section is 3 minutes long and should include specific drills that compliment the main lifts in the session. As this example is during the Volume phase you can see that there isn’t much/if any rest and there is a high rep target of 12. We are trying to build work capacity in these first 4 weeks, as well as developing bodily awareness with varied movement patterns and lots of practice - hence the high reps and longer duration of the accessory and hold exercises (upwards of 30-40s). In this class members will be working in teams of 3; one as ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’. Teammate ‘A’ essentially dictates the pace of the session as the other two cannot move until ‘A’ has completed the timer exercise. The accessory and hold stations are continuous, meaning neither ‘B’ or ‘C’ can rest until ‘A’ is finished. The team of 3 will work continuously until the 9 minutes is up, and then move onto the next block of work. Each block has a specifically chosen compound exercise (timer) and then two accessory movements. The class must be completed in this order. With 3 blocks of work, and 3 exercises in each block, the members should be divided into 6 groups of 3 (if the class is at capacity) and the room should be set up for two groups in each block. If there aren’t enough people in the class for 6 groups of 3 people, simply turn them into teams of 4 or 5 where the extra members complete the exercises synchronised with the person next to them. This is easier to understand when taking part in our classes (which we greatly encourage), but in practice it is very simple to manage.</image:title>

If we imagine a full class at our London Bridge studio, we will have to divide everyone across each of the 3 blocks and put them into teams of 3. 18/3 is 6, so there will need to be x2 pieces of the kit that is listed throughout the room so x2 teams of 3 can work in each block. In their teams of 3, one person works continuously to score calories on an Erg, one person completes a set number of reps (timer) whilst the last teammate rests. When the timer exercise is complete, all teammates can rotate stations. It is up to whoever is on the timer exercise how quickly they move around the stations during the 12 minute block. If we had a full class in Peckham (20), this means the extra 2 people could work by themselves (with rest managed between them) or they can form a team of 5 and work next to the team of 3; that way they get the same blocks of rest like everyone else. The example here is one of the simplest formats for Circuit.</image:title>

      <image:title>Staff Portal (Module 5) - Hyrox classes are capped at 16 people at London Bridge and Clapham. Running is always included in Hyrox sessions, so a prior knowledge of the outdoor routes is mandatory before being able to take one of these classes (another reason to attend classes and join Workout Wednesday!). The total working time for this example is 45 minutes, but as the warm-up includes a 1km run and mobility, the total time for the class is 1 hour. Every 9 minutes, every pair needs to stop what they’re doing and run a 400m loop outside and pick up from where they left of when they return to the studio. Every time they complete a full round of the floor exercises, they add 20 reps/cals for their next round. In order for the number of people and kit to work, you will need x3 of each Erg on the floor (x3 rowers, x3 ski’s and x3 air bikes). If there was a full class, this would leave on machine free which is completely fine. On their next lap, every pair needs to move to a different machine, so the extra one actually helps prevent backlogs if people are completing the workout at a similar speed.</image:title>
