Module 1: Our Ethos
The Milo and the Bull Ethos couldn’t be simpler: Deliver exceptional workouts and wellbeing experiences, which challenge our community, help them build strength and allow them to enjoy themselves.
We look to challenge our members with thoughtfully programmed classes, which aim to build strength and endurance as well as leave people feeling incredible. We believe that one of the best aspects of Milo and the Bull is how unique our programming is. In the gym, clients work in twelve-week blocks, where our trainers deliver workouts with growth in mind. In the studio, Reformer classes are designed to build strength, endurance and range of motion, either as part of active recovery to support our members in their training goals or indeed considered a whole-body workout in themselves.
At Milo and the Bull we have a simple, honest and holistic approach to health and fitness.
To achieve any fitness goal, the simple truth is that it takes consistent hard work and effort, and this is exactly what we require from you! However, we believe that all this hard work should not be to the detriment of your health.
Our aim is to build you, not break you! Our innovative low impact rowing classes not only make the hard work fun and exciting, but when combined with our yoga and Pilates program, we provide everything you need to revel in your journey to improve your health and fitness.
Our founders met in 2013, George was playing professional rugby at Harlequins FC and Richie was working with the Strength and Conditioning Team. At the time, George had a neck injury, which led to spending more sessions in the gym with Richie who was working in sports rehab with injured players. They spent a lot of time sharing stories about their experiences and love of sport but grew a common bond of health, fitness and wellbeing, where all the hard work is performed: in the gym.
‘‘We’ve both been lucky enough to play and experience sport in some amazing places all over the world and feel passionately that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy sport, achieve their best and reach their fitness goals.’’
We all know the benefits of being fit and well, so, we want to use our skills and experience to make a positive contribution to the community using three simple principles on the quest to maintain a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle:
•      Balance
•      Consistency
•      Enjoyment
Onboarding Expectation
Before proceeding with the rest of your online onboarding, there are few final things to consider. Joining the Milo and the Bull trainer and instructor team is completely dependant on the following three things:
- Completing the entirety of your online onboarding within 4 weeks
- Attending established Milo instructor Reformer classes
- Successfully completing your teach backs
- Taking on feedback throughout the process, and proving yourself to be not only an excellent coach or instructor, but a reliable and compassionate person
Teams are only ever as good as the people who make it. We care deeply about the work culture across our gyms and studios and have worked hard to foster a supportive and development focussed environment that welcomes anybody who aligns with our values and wants to be a part of our journey. That said, there must be noticeable development throughout your onboarding process to be considered for a position. If at any point we feel seriously unsure of your abilities to lead our sessions, you will not be invited to take your final audit. If you pass your final audit, your first 3 months will be probationary, and we expect to see further development in your coaching ability and style that matches the level we want to offer.
Please rest assured, we will support you every step of the way and will happily answer any questions or concerns at any stage.
